Proppy HF Circuit Prediction
http://soundbytes.asia/proppy/
The tools provided by this web application enable users to predict available frequencies, signal levels and corresponding reliabilities for High Frequency (HF) circuits for user defined paths and times.
Predictions are performed using the ITURHFProp application (A software method for the prediction of the performance of HF circuits in accordance with Recommendation ITU-R P.533-13) provided by the ITU.
The ITURHFProp application is available from the ITU’s website at the following location; http://www.itu.int/en/ITU-R/study-groups/rsg3/Pages/iono-tropo-spheric.aspx.
Full details of Proppy’s features may be found in the Manual, available on-line or as a .pdf download.

XZ2A – Myanmar
XZ2A
THE FIRST RESIDENT AMATEUR RADIO STATION IN MYANMAR SINCE 1962!
Simon mentions he is now on air using a temporary antenna at his current QTH.
QSL PROCEDURE:
- I try to upload my QSOs regulary to LOTW (A donation to my charity may hasten that upload hihi!)
- Currently, I only upload my logs to LOTW and Clublog, and not to eQSL or QRZ.com
- I do not need your QSL cards, either sent direct or via your bureau
- There is no QSL bureau in Myanmar – so I cannot receive nor send QSL cards out via a bureau
- If you want to receive a hard-copy QSL card for your QSO with me, please visit my Clublog OQRS page
- I post out my QSL cards 2 times per year, when I visit Bangkok (Thailand) and send using Thailand Post
- I welcome QSL reports from short wave listeners (SWL). Please send your report direct to my email address and make a payment via Paypal of $2.
- Clublog OQRS and SWL revenues are used to cover outbound postage costs only. Any balance remaining is used for my charitable purposes.
RADIO EQUIPMENT:
I currently use an Icom IC-718 with a 29 feet, homebrew vertical antenna that is a 5/8 wavelength on 15 meters.
FREQUENCIES:
- I am currently licenced to use 15, 12 and 10 metre bands only.
MODES AND OPERATING:
- I use FT-8, JT-65, PSK, RTTY, SSB, SSTV, Hellschreiber and maybe other digital modes
- I use SSB, but currently do not use CW
- When using FT-8, please do not transmit on my frequency! Spread out on the waterfall and my software (and my eyes) will see your signal and callsign.
- I do not operate ”robot” style, but will Search & Pounce, or select a call to reply to. So you do not have to be the strongest signal on the waterfall to get a QSO!
- I currently DO NOT use WSJT-X DXpedition mode (fox and hounds) for FT-8.
- If I start to use this mode, then I will announce this on my QRZ web page.
- I have a very low tolerance level to LIDs and idiots! Please follow the DX Code of Conduct.
